300 Blankets

300 Blankets is dedicated to supporting people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Victoria.

By reaching out to people who are disenfranchised and socially isolated, we strive to break down barriers and enrich a community where all people are accepted and respected through love, compassion and dignity. Together we can keep our community warm.

300 Blankets is always looking for people who are passionate about their community and can dedicate time to helping us continue our mission. Opportunities includes volunteering with our Outreach and Soul Kitchen Programs, as well as assisting with the support team in administration, events and marketing.

If you wish to support 300 Blankets financially, you can help us contribute towards the funding of our blanket distribution, Outreach and Soul Kitchen Programs which help those doing it tough. Your contribution will also allow 300 Blankets to continue to grow and empower us to expand our services in response to needs in our community.

Follow us on Facebook and Instagram, like and share our stories and start a conversation or even run a fundraiser with your friends, colleagues and family about homelessness. People experiencing homelessness are often stereotyped and face discrimination. Speaking about this issue and the challenges people face is the first step toward removing the stigma and paving the way for real and positive change.

The Future

300 Blankets has continued to evolve in response to the needs of those experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Our energies, finances and volunteer resources continue to be directed towards assisting other charities and making ideas for new programs come to life. These efforts are based on where we have seen a potential to increase 300 Blankets’ reach and positive impact in the community.

Sustainability

Through our annual fundraising events and receipt of generous donations from our community, 300 Blankets has continued to not only maintain its core services, but also expand its portfolio of Programs. Everyone who participates in our Programs, as well as those who manage 300 Blankets, are all unpaid volunteers. We have continued to keep our overhead costs to an absolute minimum to maximise the effectiveness of every dollar raised for 300 Blankets.

Scalability

As we expand the breadth of our Program offerings, 300 Blankets has recognised the potential to replicate and increase our services to support as many members of our community as possible. The continued success of Soul Kitchen provides a framework that can be rolled out across other suburban areas of Melbourne.
