Benalla Residents Gives Generously

On Thursday 7 September the Benalla St Vincent De Paul Outreach Group hosted a winter appeal event at Georgina’s Restaurant in Benalla. As part of their winter appeal, they selected 300 Blankets as a partner and beneficiary of the Benalla community’s charitable endeavours and generosity.

300 Blankets (represented by Peter Royce) was invited to attend the event and present to the approximately thirty people in attendance on the issues confronting those experiencing homelessness as well as the work that 300 Blankets to assist these people. Peter talked about our Outreach Program and the tangible benefits it has for our community through the connections and conversations we have out on the streets, and the material items we can provide.

As a result of the evening, a number of attendees have volunteered to participate in our Outreach Program and an extraordinary amount of material items (particularly toiletries) were donated to 300 Blankets. We look forward to these volunteers having the opportunity to provide some of their donated items to people on the streets.

300 Blankets would like to thank the Benalla community and the St Vincent De Paul Benalla Outreach Group (particularly their President, Shannon Tharratt) for their enthusiastic support of what we do and the enormous number of donations received.
